The course is open to riders of all nationalities. They should have taken part in official competitions in their countries and have acquired a sound technical basis. As most instructors speak English and Spanish, French is not required, but a working knowledge is recommended. French lessons can be organized during the course. The course runs for 44 weeks from the first week of October to the last week of July. Equestrian and pedagogic training: 1410 hours (dressage, show jumping, eventing). All lessons are taught by the Ecuyers of the Cadre Noir, each an expert in his/her discipline. Horses are provided by the school; students may bring one or more horses capable of being integrated in the course. Included in the course are various visits, dinners, conferences, and competitions. In order to give individual and personal support to each student, only six positions are open each year. Selection is based on the candidate’s file. Two weeks of holidays are programmed during the course. By the end of the course, students will have gained training and competition experience; they will be able not only to teach several riding disciplines, but also to train teams for competitions in their specialty.
