We offer a classroom space for instruction and a laboratory space for hands-on application of skills. Equine laboratory work is primarily accomplished by visiting area facilities.

The equine portion of our program includes a course specifically covering Equine Nursing and Surgery. The program consists of thirty weeks of courses which cover a wide variety of subjects. In each course, a variety of species, including equine, are covered. Course subjects include clinical microbiology, anatomy, physiology, cytology, virology, urinalysis, hematology, parasitology, pharmacology, nutrition, behavior, patient history and physical exam, restraint and handling, radiography, anesthesia, analgesia, surgical preparation, instrument care, emergency care, injury management, dentistry, genetics, theriogenology, neonatal care, zoonotic diseases, veterinary terminology, occupational hazards, grief counseling and euthanasia.
