Two instructed rides per week, with class size averaging five students. Judson College welcomes all students who want to participate in the equestrian program. You may choose this program so that you can use the knowledge to gain an edge professionally, or you may simply want to learn how to ride. Either way, you will be comfortable in the riding program at Judson College. The Equine Science minor helps prepare students for veterinary medicine, veterinary medical technology, show riding, breeding, training, jumping, working with various aspects of the equine, and the etiquette of the show world. As a Judson Equestrian, you will learn all that you can about the equine and equine industry. The program includes exhibition shows, presentations, field trips, IHSA (Intercollegiate Horse Show Association), and many more opportunities. Students have an opportunity to gain experience showing horses in hunter, jumping, western horsemanship, and reining classes. Students may tryout to become a member of the Judson College Equestrian Team. The Judson College Equestrian Team competes in the IHSA.
