Founded in 1987. Two instructors. The program is Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for eight weeks. The first week, students do half a day in forge work and half a day in anatomy. After that, students shoe and trim everyday. The courses are presented in understandable terms, and each student, upon graduation, is a qualified, well-informed farrier. The students learn in great detail about the horse and his conformation, how to form and use handmade shoes, welding, and brazing.
