The Certificate Courses are primarily designed for those pursuing a career with horses. To this end, students must be able to carry out all aspects of horse care, including grooming, cleaning tack, mucking out, and sweeping yards. Only by learning to do such things well can students become efficient workers and know what standards to demand from others. Thus, students and their parents or guardians must fully appreciate this point before undertaking a Certificate Course. For students who are unsure, it is recommended that they pursue one of the other courses offered by the school. In addition to BHS Certificate Courses, weekly courses are offered throughout the year, designed for riders (of all ability levels) who wish to increase their knowledge and improve their performance. Courses can be tailored to individual requirements, but most students find existing courses that are suitable for them, including general equitation, dressage, combined training, children’s courses, side-saddle, in-hand, long-reining, and hacking holidays. (Please inform the school that you saw them listed in this book when contacting.)
