The Animal Science major program focuses on the scientific principles that underlie the breeding and husbandry of agricultural animals, and the production, processing, and distribution of agricultural animal products. This program is broad enough to allow students to select courses related to equines, or food animal production. The horsemanship minor consists of 21 semester hours of equine or equitation courses. Some of these courses are specified requirements and other courses count as elective hours. General course electives may also be taken in horsemanship, agriculture and related areas.
