Tuition Costs: 
Undergraduate: Texas residents tuition and fees for 15 hours = $2,075; Non-resident = $6,225; Graduate: Texas tuition for 12 hours = $1839; Non-resident = $5031: Housing ranges from $1,250--$1,400 per semester. Several scholarships are available from Department of Animal Science; Rodeo team; judging teams, etc.
Facilities: 
The Equine Center consists of 65 dedicated acres which includes a 24-run mare motel, a four-stall stud barn, a breeding barn with lab and classroom, and a 110ft x 225ft indoor arena with 29 stalls. The University maintains about 50-60 horses for use in various classes, and raises 12-15 foals per year. The Rodeo Practice Facility is located on 15 acres and includes three practice arenas and 38 shedrow-type stalls with runs. The Rodeo Association maintains all type of practice stock for student use.
Class ratio: 
Each of the 15 designated equine classes has its own hands-on laboratory. At a minimum, each hour of lecture is supported by at least one hour of practical application.
Showing: 
Currently, a Stock Horse Competition Team is available through the Horseman's Association.

The Equine Program consists of three entities. The Equine Science Program offers three tracks; Breeding, Management, and Training. Students may focus on one track, or combine classes to meet their needs. The Equine Assisted Therapy Program offers specific courses in that field and is accredited by NARHA. The Rodeo Program offers specific classes in rodeo production and skills. These classes may be combined with other equine classes in any of the desired tracks to meet degree requirements.
