At Virginia Tech, our dedicated faculty provide students with an exciting academic curriculum, blending equine studies with a strong foundation in agriculture and the biological sciences. Through individualized programs tailored to meet each student’s needs, our graduates are well-prepared for careers in veterinary medicine, production agriculture or as professionals in the equine industry. More than a dozen equine courses are offered, including six levels of equitation on the flat and over fences. Many small classes, with personal instruction and mentorship from faculty with outstanding industry experience. On- and off-campus internships are available. A capstone experience, featuring independent studies, special studies research projects and/or internships, is required for all undergraduate students. Study abroad is encouraged, and a summer program in Germany is offered for equine science students.
