Applied instruction in dressage, hunter/jumper, saddle seat, and Western. The Equestrian Science degree is especially designed for the student interested in pursuing a career in training and managing horses, and/or teaching equitation. Students enrolled in the program receive both theoretical and applied “hands-on” experience through required course work. Equine Administration is the major for students who wish to pursue a career in equestrian business, equestrian organizations, breed associations, or facility/event management. Courses cover such topics as economics, entrepreneurship, promotion/public relations, law, and taxation in equine-specific formats. Five additional business and computer courses are required to intensify the major.
