Facilities: 
The College’s Equine Training and Development Unit provides stabling for around 40 horses and incorporates a range of stable designs. There is also a 50 x 40m indoor arena and two outdoor arenas, horse walker, jumping paddocks and a cross- country course. At the Unit students can develop practical skills, from grooming, tacking up and clipping through to lungeing and first aid skills. The Lordships Stud is also an extensive working stud unit which houses a variety of broodmares, foals, stallions and youngstock. It operates as a commercial stud and as an excellent educational facility for students. Writtle College also has a dedicated science centre, which has well equipped laboratories and lecture theatres.

Located in Chelmsford, Essex, Writtle College provides full and part-time courses including post-GCSE vocational training, University of Essex Foundation and Honours degrees and Postgraduate programs. The College has an excellent academic reputation and strong links with breeders, trainers, nutritionists, veterinary surgeons and research organizations throughout Europe. The College has a lively, community atmosphere with halls of residence on campus for up to 400 students. There is an active Students’ Union which regularly holds social events in the College’s Recreation Centre. The College also has active teams in many sports.
