The education of riding instructors conforms to the European system, and Finland is a member of the International Group for Equestrian Qualifications. The Equine College is the only school in Finland with programs especially for farriers, lad drivers and riders, blacksmiths, saddlers, riding therapists, and riding instructors. As a provider of basic vocational education in trotting, the Equine College is the leading school in Scandinavia. In addition, the college arranges theoretical studies for those attending apprenticeship education courses. Courses range in length from a couple of months to three years (120 credits). The college can accept only a few international students per year.
